After a lifelong desire to learn how to make a quilt, I found a wonderful teacher in an extended family member who taught me the basics and gave me a solid foundation on which to build skills. Sue remains someone that I bounce ideas off and her creativity and positivity inspire me. My other teacher, Lucy also helped me develop my skills and I was able to learn about colour from her exquisite eye.

Brown Peacock was born from the love of quilting I developed while learning from Sue and Lucy, and my sister Cathy came up with the name Brown Peacock Quilts while we were on one of our annual road trips. The title is rooted in family and as one of my biggest supporters I couldn't be happier that my sister came up with the name Brown Peacock.

I have been quilting since 2012 and have come a long way since my first sampler lap quilt and still continue to learn new techniques every time I pick up my rotary cutter or lay hands on one of my sewing machines.
